You Found Me...

Treasure Denise Demmings also known by her stage names (Treasure G or Treasure No-Chest) could sing before she could walk. Originally from the southside of Minneapolis, MN, she was exposed to music at a very young age. Her mother Donnia Riley was a lead vocalist at her local church while her father, James Demmings, was a well-known D.J. in the Minneapolis party scene since the late 70’s. The inspiration she got from her parents was polar opposites. She wasn’t allowed to listen to secular music in her mother’s household, but in her father’s home she and her siblings learned all about George Clinton and The Funkadelic and the catchy, soulful sounds of Motown. “I remember getting in trouble as a child for listening to or singing anything but gospel around my mom she was really strict, so I had to learn how to separate my different worlds. She was a great Mom though I could never take that from her". Being saturated with such an array of musical influence so early in life, she realized her passion quickly. Treasure started performing at church when she was 3 and joined the church choir by the time, she was 9 when most children weren’t allowed to join until they were 12. She did music all throughout high school doing her first colab with "the Wenso Ashby project", and it didn’t matter what she was singing in grade school her soulful voice always stood out. You could always catch Treasure singing, dancing, or writing somewhere. Her eclectic style ranged from country, hip hop, alternative, soul, pop and more. In a time where true artists are few, Treasure is a breath of fresh air. Her passion, drive and struggles can be empathized through her voice. “I want to make people happy. I want to reach everyone; I want to leave a legacy like all of the icons I looked up to before me; but I also want to restore peoples hope like music did for me. I want them to know that I have gone through the same or similar things just like they have which is why i talk about my struggles alot in my music.” Treasure has been actively performing in the Twin Cities everywhere from charity events, fund raisers, funerals, churches and etc. She has performed in venues such as The Granada theater, The Penumbra Theatre, The Capri Theatre, churches, schools, local parks, karoake bars (Champions, Willards, Taste of Rondo, the 200 Bar, 4th street Saloon, Moose on Monroe, Market BBQ, Vegas Lounge, Otters saloon, and most recently Mad Jacks); skating rinks to popular clubs such as First Ave, The Venue MPLS (Opening for grammy nominated recording artist Keyshia Cole with her sister group "Treasure & Juic'e also known as "Fierce"). She was also a part of a sister group known as "T-n-T" which featured group members Jessica (Juic'e) and Tanya (Profecy). More venues she has had the pleasure of gracing the stage of include Aqua, Pour House, N.E. Palace, The Imperial Room, Whiskey Park, Underground Music Cafe, Red Sea, Tee's Place, Terminal bar, Arnellia’s in St. Paul, and the Minneapolis Urban League's annual event "family day opening for platinum and grammy nominated artists such as Jamecia Bennett, R.L (from the group "Next"), Troop, and Mint Condition. She recently opened for platinum selling artist Case August 18th, 2023, at the Granada theater, in Minneapolis. Treasure has also performed at the national anthem project in Washington D.C.
